IKEA commercial.

I recently posted a video of the behind the scenes look at the IKEA cat commercial. Here is the finished IKEA Happy Inside commercial! I don't know why but I just think this is so cute. It does make me happy to watch it! IKEA and cats! Two of my favorite things! Carlyle would go crazy inside IKEA. Can you imagine the clean up after this? Too funny...

Birthday Weekend!

I had the funnest birthday weekend! My actual birthday was last Friday. Now I'm 27 and I still feel like I'm 19 or 20... It's weird! I got the day off work and John and I headed to Orange County right after he got back from school around Noon. John's dad's birthday is today- Happy Birthday Geoff! We celebrated both of our birthdays this weekend. Friday night we went to this delicious Italian place called Mangia Bene. It was actually closed down for about 3 months, then re-opened recently. After dinner we opened presents and ate cake that John's mom had made for us. Thanks Debbie! Saturday I just hung out while John watched football most of the day. Later on we went to their E.F.Y. Stake Variety Show that John's dad was the MC of. It was fun to see all the talented kids. Some of them sucked... but that's okay. They get an "A "for getting up there. Then we went and ate at Cafe Rio! Man I love that place. It's so dank! Sunday we went to church and then came home. I was so excited when we returned home to find my flower knobs I had ordered from Anthropologie as part of some birthday money. I put them on our night stands in our bedroom. I love how they look now! So much funner! I had a great weekend! Yay for birthdays! Sorry that some of the pics are dark...

Apple Pie Caramel Apples!

John and I love Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory's Apple Pie Caramel Apples! We wanted to try and re-create them without a recipe. We also didn't want to pay 8.25 per apple! I think everyone should go and make these! They were so yummy and easy! We had made homemade Caramel the other day and had a lot left so we decided to make these with the leftover caramel. (You can just buy store bought Caramels and melt them... that's much easier!) If you're interested, here is how you make them: We used Gala Apples, but I recommend getting Granny Smith Apples. (5 or 6) You will need some sticks to poke in the middle of the apples. Wash and dry the apples. If needed, remove the stems and poke the sticks in the middle of the apple. Heat up the Caramel in the microwave or stovetop. Dip the apples in the caramel and let all the excess Caramel drip off and put on wax paper. Immediately put them all in the fridge to set up. (About 30-45 minutes...) When it's all set, melt up some White Chocolate. Do the same thing with the White Chocolate, except then you immediately roll them with a Brown Sugar and Cinnamon mixture! Put them back in the fridge and let them sit again for about an hour. The hardest part of making these is waiting to eat them! It was kind of hard to make them look pretty, but they tasted delicious! Here is the homemade Caramel recipe link. Let me know if you have any questions.

Blessed...

My dad sent me the pics today of the totaled car they were in when they got in the car wreck! I was nervous to see these pics and it made me feel really grateful that Heavenly Father was watching over my family. My dad was knocked unconscious and my brother Seth was able to somehow grab the wheel from the back seat and steer the car so it wouldn't go into the Provo river! I'm so glad the Volvo protected them!

Birthday Boy!

I just wanted to give a shout out to my dad today! It's his 62nd birthday! He is an amazing dad and husband to my mom! He was recently in a pretty bad car wreck along with my grandma and brother Seth. He got the worst of it and it was really scary for all of us. He was in the hospital for a few days with a bleeding brain. We all prayed for him and he is doing a lot better! I love my dad and wish I could be there in Utah to celebrate with him!

9-11 Pepperdine Memorial

John told me there was a September 11th Flag memorial at Pepperdine going on right now, so we decided to go check it out after church today. It was breathtaking! There were over 3000 flags on display blowing in the wind! There was one for each innocent person that died that day! It was very humbling. Each flag represented which country the person that died was from. It was very windy, which was great for the flags, but bad for my hair! Haha... I'm glad we went and checked it out as this is John's last year at Pepperdine.
