Last 2 days in NYC

We got our apartment packed up just in the nick of time. The moving company arrived while I was still doing our last load of laundry. It was crazy and hectic to say the least. When all of them men came in and started taking all of our boxes and furniture away I kind of lost it. I teared up knowing that we were done with this chapter in our lives and that we were leaving Weston's first home. It was bittersweet. We checked into a motel that night. It was fun until we realized we had a baby with us and he is very needy and fussy. Haha. Note to self: Do not ever check into a hotel/motel again with a kid. Anyway, it was a long, sleepless night with the baby waking up every 2 hours! It was awful! The next morning we got a late checkout and took the shuttle bus to JFK. We got there 6 hours before out flight. Haha. We couldn't even check in until 4 hours before our flight. We just sat on some chairs and took turns walking the baby around. The 6 hours went by fairly quickly. The worst was yet to come. The flight was AWFUL!!! He was fussy the whole time and never content. He only slept for about 45 minutes the entire 4 hour flight. He was so overtired that he wouldn't fall asleep. When we landed we sat in the hot airplane on the tarmac for 25 minutes while he screamed and everyone stared at us. It was so frustrating! Noting was working. The nice lady in front of us was trying to play songs for him on her cell phone so he would shut up! Anyway, it was a horrible experience and I don't ever wanna fly with him again for a long time! We finally made it out the airplane and my sweet parents and grandma were waiting for us! They drove all the way from Utah to help us with our big move! They have helped us almost every time we've moved! I am so grateful for all of their help. It was so much harder this time with a kid. The heat and humidity have been horrible here in Houston, but I was expecting it. We are moving here at the worst time of the year. Besides that, I am loving Texas! We went and checked out our apartment and I was pleasantly surprised. It's old, but it was clean. There were some baby cockroaches that I've found in our apartment but I guess that's to be expected here. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the humidity and bugs. Oh well. We are still waiting for all of our furniture to arrive so in the meantime we are staying at a friend's house 20 minutes away from our apartment. It has been great as we would be staying in an empty apartment! Our stuff from CA is arriving tomorrow afternoon and our stuff from NYC is arriving on the 14th. I am just anxious to get unpacked and settled in. Thank goodness for my parent's help! I will post pics of the apartment when it's all unpacked and decorated. I'm not sure how it will look when I blend all of our stuff from CA with the newish stuff from NYC. Hopefully it will turn our okay. We are hoping to be in a house by Christmas so this older apartment is just for 6 months! Here are some iphone pics from moving day and some pics at the motel and airport. We are excited for our new adventure here in Texas!

Moving in June

John graduates from NYU on May 17th. He has had a lot of interviews with different companies. After a lot of thought and prayer, we have decided to accept a job offer from Ernst & Young in Houston, Texas! I never thought I'd be living in Texas, but I'm excited! I've never been there before. I know some people from Texas, but not the Houston area. With cost of living so low, we're hoping to be able to afford a house in a year or so. John is really excited to start working after being in law school for the past 4 years! I am excited to have a working husband, Target nearby and a car again. If you know anything about Houston or know someone who lives there or is from there, please let me know! I'd like all the info I can get! John and I have to move all of our stuff and our cat from CA to Texas, not to mention all of our new furniture etc.. from NY to TX! It will be quite the task! I'll have to get some Texas prints for our new place!

NYC pics...

There are from about a month ago when my parents and grandma were here. My dad mailed me a DVD of all the pics they took while they were here. I am just now getting around to posting them. There were sooooo many that I just had to narrow them down. Here are 25 pics from their trip. Thanks again mom and dad for driving all this way and helping us find a place and move in. We love and miss you!

There were a ton of these benches made with pieces of glass. It was cool. I can't believe someone went to all this effort. They looked cool though.

The famous restaurant from Seinfeld.

This is just to show how packed my parent's van was. This was not even all of it!
