Celebrity Sightings Round VI + Christmas 2008

Christmas CA Style!
MEET CARLYLE!!!

JOHN REALLY OUTDID HIMSELF THIS YEAR BY SURPRISING ME WITH A BABY 8 week old KITTY! I have been begging him for the last year to get one. Ever since I met his fun and loving two cats Michi and Shiro, I was sold! I didn't grow up loving cats but now I do! His mom found him online and went and picked him up for John and babysat him for two weeks so it wouldn't give away the surprise! It was super nice of her to do all of this! They became quite attached to him! He is the sweetest funnest little guy... He slept for 7 hours straight last night next to John and I! Not to mention all of the wonderful gifts she gave John and I! This Christmas was the best Christmas ever! I had so much fun spending Christmas with the Crisp family. (Although I sure did miss my family in Utah!) I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Last night at work the host informed me that this lady had just come up to her asking how long the wait was and she told her about 30 min. Then this black lady says well what if I have a celebrity with me? The host laughed and said depends...who's the celebrity? She says Vivica A. Fox! So they got in a lot sooner. I decided to go up and talk with her. I wasn't serving her but wanted to go chat with her. She was super nice and approachable. I asked how her Christmas was and she said it was great and she was leaving tomorrow to go somewhere warmer! I laughed and said Yah I just moved from Utah and was not expecting this cold weather! She said just wait till the Summer and that will make up for it. She was very nice and I'm glad I met her.

LA Temple Christmas lights & a survey...

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

The other night I went with our Young Woman's group to go check out the LA temple lights. They were so cool! I mean it was no Temple Square...HAHAH...but I was pleased. It was rad how they wrapped the Palm Trees with lights! What a beautiful temple!

John has worked so hard and long all semester and he finished his LAST final today! I am so proud of him! I come home from a long day of work and he had bought me some beautiful flowers! How cute is he? He was the one that just finished finals and he bought me my favorite thing! What a sweetie! He said it was for putting up with him all semester! That was easy! He is not hard to put up with at all! I should have bought him something! A bunch of other law students and their wives went with us to celebrate the end of finals at Chili's tonight. It was a lot of fun! I am so excited to have him all to myself for 3 weeks!

Also, Caitlin tagged me to do this little survey thingy! Is everyone else as excited for Christmas to come as me? Yeah for the Holidays! I tag Elizabeth & Sarah!

Tis' The Season...

Here are a few of our Christmas decorations. John was so busy with school I went and bought and decorated the fake little tree myself...(Sad he didn't get to help me huh?) Luckily last weekend we both got to help his parents decorate their tree! The ornaments on the tree are very special to me because each year my Grandma Jean has given each of us grandkids a different ornament. So this is my collection I've accumulated since I was just a little girl! Although the tree is small and inexpensive I truly am grateful to have a little tree up! It brings us Holiday cheer! Isn't this time of the year the best? Even with no snow here in CA! ; )

John's Haircut

So John buzzed his hair last Halloween 2007! Ever since then he has not even trimmed it! So as you can imagine it got really long. I actually thought he looked handsome with long hair and he knew he would never be able to have it this long ever again! He also went to BYU where long hair was not allowed for so many years...Anyway, His parents always say they want him to get it cut and he was tired of all the comments people would make whenever they would see him. HAHA... We were at his parent's house this weekend and his dad offered him to cut his hair! John knew he had law school interviews coming up next month anyway, so he decided it was time to look more professional! He was sad to cut it but it will be so much easier to do! We decided to skunk hawk it. ( kind of like Chuck Liddell does) You can kind of see the hawk...Here are some pics of the event...Thanks again Geoff for cutting it for him! ; )

John tried on all of his mom's gold jewelry and it was dang funny...We were all laughing so much! I think he secretly wishes he was in the UFC! ; )

Celebrity Sightings Round V + Thanksgiving and Twilight

Well we had quite the week. First we get to Utah and in the airport we see Mitt Romney (See previous post) and then we get to Jed and Abi's house for the week to set up our little space. The kids were already asleep when we arrived but in the morning Carter A.K.A "Sauce," comes banging on our door with Hannah and Jace to wake us up! Sauce was wearing nothing but a Santa Hat! It was hilarious. Too bad I didn't get a pic of that! It was so great to see the cute kid's we've been missing for 4 months and to stay with Jed and Abi, They were so hospitable. Thanks again Jed and Abi for letting us stay in your beautiful Holiday decorated home! The day before Thanksgiving I went over to my mom's house and helped her make fudge and Chex Mix. Yum Yum! 10 lbs. later...HAHA. Thanksgiving was awesome! It was so nice to be HOME! Everyone was there except for Clarissa! Even Seth! We sure missed Clarissa! She was with her husband's side of the family. The last few years there have been non-family members at Thanksgiving so Haley and Lance were betting beforehand on how many "strays" would be there for Thanksgiving...and sure enough there was this girl Holly that was in my parent's branch at our house! She is from the South and had no family here so my dad (being her Bishop and very giving) invited her into our home. She was very nice and fit right in. We had great food and had a lot of fun catching up, eating, and playing board games! Then on Friday at 4 in the morning John and I went with Abi and some of her neighbors to the "Black Friday" sale at Wal-Mart! It was insane and I'll never do it again but we did get a new Blu-Ray player! Then that afternoon the girls and I went to Twilight! I have been waiting for a couple weeks now to see it and I wasn't expecting too much considering all the reviews and what not. I have to say I LOVED every minute of it!!! Seriously so much better than I thought! Yes, it was a little cheesy...but I still loved it! It was like reading the book all over again. Anyway, I can't wait for the rest of the movies to come out! This little Beehive in my YW class always tells me I look just like Kristen Stewart...(Bella). Yah Right...She is so much cuter than I am. So then on Saturday we just hung out and poor John was in the BYU library most of the week studying. But he calls me on Friday and says guess who I just saw at BYU...He had just seen Elizabeth Smart! Too funny...
Just in case you forgot what the girl looked like! Then on Saturday we hung out some more and then we all came to Jed and Abi's and played games and ate pizza from Papa Johns! Sunday we went to church with my parents and my dad gave a great lesson about Emergency Preparedness! (The Relief Society and Priesthood had a combined meeting.) Then my parents and Grandma Jean took us to the airport and we boarded our plane! We arrive in LAX around 8, and go down to get our baggage. I look behind me and do a double take...I think to myself that guy looks familiar. Then look at him again and then I tell John I think that guy standing behind us with his hot boyfriend is the guy from Grey's Anatomy! So I go up to him and our conversation goes like this:
"Hey are you J.R.?"
"No, T.R.!" ( I felt so stupid at this point.)
"Oh Sorry! My bad...I really like your show! Could I get a picture with you?"
"Sure!" "What's your name?"
"Audrey." (It was so cute he asked my name. Most celebs wouldn't ask that.)
We take the pic...and I look nasty and he had a baseball hat on and a lame look on his face...Oh well. I love Grey's Anatomy and was so stoked that John had just taken our pic. We turn around and they are totally holding hands. It was funny! I'm surprised that no one else noticed him. Then as we were leaving I said "Thanks again Nice to meet you." And He said "It was nice to meet you Have a good night." He was so super nice. And he must have been on the same flight as us from SLC. I wonder if he has family in Utah? That was the highlight of my trip. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks for reading this super long post! I only got a few pics from the week but I will post what I have.

Here are the darling little kids that we played with: Sauce, Hannah and Jace!

Here is Jed and Abi who we stayed with:

Celebrity Sightings Round IV

So yesterday we went to LAX to board out plane to come to Utah for Thanksgiving...I was hoping to maybe see some celebrities at the airport! Well, We didn't see any celebrities at LAX so I was a little dissapointed. We arrived in SLC at the airport and we went down to pick up our luggage and John says to me "Look! There's Mitt Romney!" I turn around and he is standing a foot away from me picking up his luggage with his son! I was so excited. I love Mitt! (John voted for him for President even though he wasn't running anymore. HAHA...) I wanted to say hi to him but decided to let him be in peace. He was very tall and rather handsome. He looks just the same in person. Anyway, we were really excited. My brother Jed picked us up from the airport and we told him who we had just seen and he was all excited cause he looked behind us and Mitt and his son were about 5 feet away from us again and so he caught a glimpse of him! Man we were lucky! So we did see a celebrity after all and it was in UTAH! YES! Go Mitt 2012! HAHA!

Celebrity Sightings Round III

Okay so here is the latest person that I served: Jose Conseco. He used to play for the Oakland Athletics. He retired about 10 years ago. He also recently wrote a book entitled: "Juiced," which exposes the steroid usage in the MLB. (Including himself. He use to be super beefed up and huge on roids. Now he looks "normal".) Anyway, I actually served him about a month ago and then again yesterday. He was fairly polite but his g/f is pretty lame and rude. They tipped me about 18%...so not impressed.

Slideshow of Christ

Here is a beautiful "Reflection" Slideshow I borrowed from my friend Sarah's page. It was such a good video and a great reminder of things to come if we are living worthily. I am grateful for the gospel in my life I put it on here so more of the people I love could see it and enjoy it. We all have our struggles but we have a lot we are blessed with. : ) P.S. Be prepared you might cry like I did...

Celebrity Sightings....Round II

Okay...So today I was swamped at work and guess who I see at one of my tables...Yup..Brian Mcknight! I dunno if you guys know who he is but he is a singer. He's kind of a "Has Been," but anywho I was stillI "star struck" again and started to get all nervous and I started sweating and kind of freaking out. I know, I am lame. But I'm from Utah and you just don't really see celebrities in Utah. He had a "I Voted" sticker on and he was with his teenage kid. He was very nice and at the end I decided to tell him I was a big fan. I felt immediately retarted but it was true. I really did like his music. Anyway, He ended up leaving me 17 bucks on 36! So it was a very good tip! So I guess that might be the secret to getting a better tip from celebrities. You just have to let them know you know who they are! Thanks Brian. HAHA.

Celebrity Sightings....

So today I go up to this table to introduce myself and take their order and lo and behold it's Laila Ali!!! I was a little "star struck" and kind of tripped over my words... HAHA.. She isn't the biggest celebrity but I was excited. John and I used to watch her on Dancing with the Stars and she hosted Gladiators. She was with her husband and new little baby boy. He was adorable by the way. Anyway, they were nice and I was debating whether or not to be like "Oh My heck...I know you! and I love you. How are you?" or just not to say anything and to let them eat in peace. So I compromised with myself and said "You're baby is so cute." How stupid was that? So I was expecting a rather large tip and got barely 20%! HAHA. I know they are both loaded. How stingy those rich famous people think they are! j/k/ but that always seems to happen when rich people come in and eat. Oh well. At least they were nice and didn't seem too stuck up or what not. So that was my celebrity sighting!

TOP 8!

I came home from work yesterday to find a package from my dear mom! She had sent me the cutest little pumpkin fame that says "Trick or Treat" "Give me something good to eat." It was so cute of her and I LOVE it! I have been wanting some more Halloween decorations but don't really have any extra money to go buy some! Thanks mom! She also sent me this clipping from a Reader's Digest that was entitled" Things You're waiter wont' tell you." It was humorous and she knew I'd get a kick out of it. She made my day!

The RESULTS...

Okay people. You know who you are...Thanks for all the voting you did. Some more than once! HA HA! I really appreciated it. There were quite the opinions and I got sort of confused so I kind of wussed out and just decided to stay red but add a few blonde highlights. That way I could be a little different but not kill my hair by trying to go too blonde. Eventually I'll go all the way back blonde but for now I'll continue to have fun as a "RED head." In fact, the change is so minimal that not really anyone notices it. Which is perfect! Thanks again to my friend Sarah for doing it for me! She did an awesome job! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!
