Last 2 days in NYC

We got our apartment packed up just in the nick of time. The moving company arrived while I was still doing our last load of laundry. It was crazy and hectic to say the least. When all of them men came in and started taking all of our boxes and furniture away I kind of lost it. I teared up knowing that we were done with this chapter in our lives and that we were leaving Weston's first home. It was bittersweet. We checked into a motel that night. It was fun until we realized we had a baby with us and he is very needy and fussy. Haha. Note to self: Do not ever check into a hotel/motel again with a kid. Anyway, it was a long, sleepless night with the baby waking up every 2 hours! It was awful! The next morning we got a late checkout and took the shuttle bus to JFK. We got there 6 hours before out flight. Haha. We couldn't even check in until 4 hours before our flight. We just sat on some chairs and took turns walking the baby around. The 6 hours went by fairly quickly. The worst was yet to come. The flight was AWFUL!!! He was fussy the whole time and never content. He only slept for about 45 minutes the entire 4 hour flight. He was so overtired that he wouldn't fall asleep. When we landed we sat in the hot airplane on the tarmac for 25 minutes while he screamed and everyone stared at us. It was so frustrating! Noting was working. The nice lady in front of us was trying to play songs for him on her cell phone so he would shut up! Anyway, it was a horrible experience and I don't ever wanna fly with him again for a long time! We finally made it out the airplane and my sweet parents and grandma were waiting for us! They drove all the way from Utah to help us with our big move! They have helped us almost every time we've moved! I am so grateful for all of their help. It was so much harder this time with a kid. The heat and humidity have been horrible here in Houston, but I was expecting it. We are moving here at the worst time of the year. Besides that, I am loving Texas! We went and checked out our apartment and I was pleasantly surprised. It's old, but it was clean. There were some baby cockroaches that I've found in our apartment but I guess that's to be expected here. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the humidity and bugs. Oh well. We are still waiting for all of our furniture to arrive so in the meantime we are staying at a friend's house 20 minutes away from our apartment. It has been great as we would be staying in an empty apartment! Our stuff from CA is arriving tomorrow afternoon and our stuff from NYC is arriving on the 14th. I am just anxious to get unpacked and settled in. Thank goodness for my parent's help! I will post pics of the apartment when it's all unpacked and decorated. I'm not sure how it will look when I blend all of our stuff from CA with the newish stuff from NYC. Hopefully it will turn our okay. We are hoping to be in a house by Christmas so this older apartment is just for 6 months! Here are some iphone pics from moving day and some pics at the motel and airport. We are excited for our new adventure here in Texas!

Sunday Clothes

Today was our LAST Sunday in NYC! It was kind of sad! We will miss this ward. There were some LL.M students that we made friends with that have left as well. He wore his red bow tie my friend Marie made today. He looked so cute. On our way home there was this random couple discreetly taking his picture like 5 times. Can you say creepy? Like I didn't notice you taking his pic weirdos. Haha. Here are some pics from today. Love my little buddy in his church attire.

John's Graduation

John graduated on Friday, May 18th, 2012 from NYU Law school. He graduated with an LL.M in taxation. He basically did an extra year of law school to get a Master's degree and specialize in tax law. I am so proud of him! He said it was harder than law school was. Weston was born during school and we moved cross country. He did so great and I am so thrilled this chapter is finally closed in our lives!

No more finals.
No more late night classes.
No more homework/reading books and outlines.
No more paying absurd amounts of money to the school and living on student loan money.
No more having my other half gone all the time.
No more worrying about grades.
No more having to sit through boring/long graduations. (I've now been to 3 of John's graduations)
NO MORE SCHOOL EVER AGAIN!

John starts his new job at Ernst & Young in Houston on the 18th of June. He is looking forward to starting what he has prepared for for so long. I'm looking forward to seeing him more and actually having an income instead of paying to go to school. John's good friend Jeff came all the way out here from Utah to attend his graduation and support John! What a cool guy. The graduation was long, but it was very well done. The best part was that John wanted to walk with the baby since he was born during the school year. I wasn't sure if it would work out because he was being really fussy and John's dad had him outside in the foyer. He had finally fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake him up. We saw his buddy holding his daughter and decided to make it work. The baby woke up just in time and stole the show! I filmed it with an iphone, but it was far away. I almost started crying when I saw them both on the big screen. The crowd cheered and Weston was being so cute up there. I was one proud wife. Congrats John! Thank you for going to school 7+ years after high school to provide for our family! I love you! You weren't allowed to take pics up close while they were walking so we bought the professional ones that their photographer took. Jeff took a few of us outside after it was over, but we were limited on time and it was windy out. The first 6 pics were from the photographer. Afterwards we headed to dinner at a very fancy restaurant called Wolfgang's Steakhouse to celebrate. It was a great day!
